About Dr. Qualls
Dr. Qualls came to Judge from the East Coast in 1996. She teaches Hebrew and Christian Scriptures, Church History, and AP Art History. She is moderator and co-founder of Interact, the Judge high school level Rotary Club, and is currently chair of the Professional Development Committee.

Music, reading (especially mysteries), and cats are outside interests. Dr. Qualls is a member of the Society of Biblical Literature, the American Institute of Archeology, the American Insitute of Nautical Archaeology, the Utah Coalition for Educational Technology, Mystery Readers International, and Lourdes parish.

Her educational background includes a BA in Ancient Civilizations from Marlboro College, Marlboro, Vermont; an MA in Ancient Near Eastern Archaeology from Columbia University in the City of New York; an MA in theology (with a specialization in Religious Education) from Loyola of the South (New Orleans); and a PhD in the Art History and Archaeology of the Ancient Near East from Columbia University. Her dissertation, "Boats of Mesopotamia before 2000 BC," was written under the direction of the late Edith Porada. She has taveled and worked in Bahrain (excavation), Belgium, Cyprus (excvation, research), Denmark, England, France, Germany, Greece, Holland, Italy, Iraq (excavation, research), Israel (excavation), Kuwait (excavation, museum exhibits), Lebanon, Norway, Syria (archeologcical survey), Turkey, and former Yugoslavia.
